Position Overview
The Summer Events Manager for the UNT Vocal Jazz Workshop is a key logistical and administrative leader, responsible for ensuring the smooth planning, coordination, and execution of all aspects of the workshop. This role supports both faculty and participants by overseeing day-to-day operations, managing event logistics, and providing a well-organized and welcoming environment for all attendees.
Working closely with program directors, university staff, and student workers, the Summer Events Manager acts as the central point of contact for scheduling, facilities, communications, and on-site troubleshooting. Their leadership ensures that the workshop runs efficiently and professionally, allowing faculty to focus on teaching and students to focus on learning.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Experience coordinating academic or arts-related events preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with UNT campus systems and procedures a plus.
- Availability during the full duration of the workshop, including some evening and weekend hours.

Job Duties:
- Coordinate all logistical aspects of the workshop, including room scheduling, equipment setup, and daily schedules.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for faculty, staff, and participants during the event.
- Oversee and delegate tasks to student workers or volunteers as needed.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any on-site issues quickly and effectively.
Physical Requirements:
- Communicating with others to exchange information.
- Lifting and moving objects up to 20 pounds.
- Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting or standing.
Environmental Hazards:
- No adverse environmental conditions expected.
