UNT System Information Technology is a component of The University of North Texas System. UNT System Information Technology provides the primary technology used by all campuses to support their operations. These include: shared resources of data centers, computing hardware, software applications, network and voice communications, collaboration and productivity capabilities, central web services, risk management, and security and compliance services. Position Overview
The AI Platform Analyst is responsible for the strategic oversight, governance alignment, and lifecycle management of the UNT System’s AI tools, platforms, and enterprise AI agents. A portion of the role involves hands-on AI agent configuration or prototyping, while the primary focus is on product management, governance coordination, and portfolio oversight.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience. Minimum 2 years of experience, specifically in product and/or project management, program management, business analysis or technology governance roles.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Comprehensive understanding of AI concepts, technologies, and their application in enterprise settings.
* Strong grasp of product management principles, including lifecycle management and portfolio oversight.
* Knowledge of governance, compliance, and risk management frameworks relevant to AI.
* Ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including academic and administrative leaders.
* Skill in translating user needs into actionable product requirements and success metrics.
* Technical fluency to assess feasibility and risk and contribute to solution prototyping.
* Effective communication skills for training, stakeholder engagement, and reporting.
* Analytical skills for tracking metrics, monitoring adoption, and driving continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience managing enterprise platforms, projects, and tool portfolios.
* Familiarity with AI governance or compliance frameworks.
* Experience with AI tools or platforms (Cloudforce’s nebulaONE is a plus).
* Strong understanding of enterprise risk considerations related to AI.
Required License/Registration/Certifications
Job Duties
- Oversee the enterprise AI product and tool portfolio, ensuring strategic alignment with organizational goals.
- Define and manage AI product roadmaps, including planning, prioritization, and delivery milestones.
- Evaluate build, buy, or augment options for AI capabilities to meet evolving institutional needs.
- Manage AI product lifecycles from onboarding through retirement, including updates and decommissioning.
- Coordinate with AI, Data, and IT governance committees to align product decisions with compliance and risk frameworks.
- Document approved AI use cases, constraints, and ensure compliance reporting and auditability.
- Engage business and academic stakeholders to identify opportunities for AI adoption and innovation.
- Translate stakeholder needs into product requirements and measurable success metrics.
- Support training and communications to promote responsible AI adoption across the institution.
- Configure or prototype AI agents for proofs of concept and collaborate with technical teams during solution design.
- Define and track success metrics for AI products, monitoring adoption, value realization, and compliance trends.
- Continuously improve AI governance and product management practices based on feedback and analytics.
