Position Overview
The University of North Texas at Dallas invites applicants for the part time position of Assistant Women's Basketball Coach. The University the first four-year public institution of higher education in Dallas seeks an individual who will assist the Head Coach in leading the Women's Basketball team. Position will require hands-on coaching, as well as some travel.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree and one year experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with young people, preparing them for success in life as well as athletically.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience as a basketball player at the high school and/or AAU and/or, intercollegiate level. Coaching basketball at the high school and/or AAU and/or intercollegiate level.
Required License/Registration/Certifications
Job Duties:
- Recruit, mentor, coach and lead students who will represent the university and its mission of providing high-quality, student focused education in preparation for tomorrows careers.
- Support a program that is expected to adhere to the highest standards of compliance, competitiveness, sportsmanship, and quality.
- Provide assistance in arranging games against appropriate competition.
- Coordinate travel arrangements.
- Work with support staff as appropriate to assure the academic and personal success of the teams student athletes.
Physical Requirements:
- Communicating with others to exchange information.
- Lifting and Moving objects up to 20 pounds.
- Moving self in various positions to perform tasks in tight and confined spaces.
- Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment.
- Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
