Position Overview
The Director of Strategic Partnerships is a strategic and visionary leader responsible for the establishment, development, and management of a comprehensive Business Services Group within the University of North Texas System. This pivotal role encompasses the oversight, development and management of programs that supports the UNT System and the Universities with a variety of business-related functions. A significant focus of the position is to drive revenue generation and growth by identifying and implementing value-added programs and partnerships with third parties that benefit the System financially through best-in-class services and pricing. The Director of Strategic Partnerships will also oversee and enhance strategic sourcing activities, ensuring optimal vendor portfolio management, cooperative and GPO relationship coordination, and the oversight of strategic RFPs.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance or related field and eight years leadership experience in a related field; or any equivalent combination of education, experience or training.

* In-depth knowledge of procurement, accounts payable, travel, and card programs.

Preferred Qualifications
Extensive experience in public higher education procurement and sourcing.
Required License/Registration/Certifications
Job Duties:
- Strategic Leadership and Vision: Develop and execute a strategic plan for the Business Services Group that aligns with UNT System goals and objectives, focusing on innovation, efficiency, and revenue generation.
- Program Development and Management: Oversee the management and expansion of business services including working closely with procurement, accounts payable, travel, and card programs. Identify and develop additional programs that can add value to the System. Oversee the development and execution of strategic RFPs to support organizational goals and drive continuous improvement in procurement processes.
- Revenue Generation and Partnership Development: Actively identify and pursue opportunities for revenue generation through third-party programs and partnerships. Negotiate contracts to ensure the System receives best-in-class service and pricing. Oversee strategic sourcing activity responsible for managing the enterprise vendor portfolio, ensuring the selection and retention of top-tier vendors.
- Financial Oversight: Ensure the financial health and integrity of the Business Services Group through budget management, financial analysis, and the implementation of fiscal policies and procedures.
- Team Leadership and Development: Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of sourcing professionals. Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the department.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and System policies. Assess and mitigate risks associated with business services operations.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to assess needs, improve service delivery, and ensure satisfaction. Serve as the primary liaison between the university and third-party vendors.
Work Schedule:
Remote with occasional onsite requirement. Standard work hours are Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm
