Position Overview
This is a professional administrative position responsible for performing HR Records tasks to support employees across the UNT System and front desk operations. This position reports to the UNT System Director of HR and serves as a customer service focused and engaged member of the HR Team.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree in a related field and two (2) years of human resources and administrative support experience; or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.

- Working knowledge of applicable federal and state laws, and HR best practices
- Problem solving and analytical skillsProficiency in MS Office
- A high degree of credibility and integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Strong communication skills (writing, oral and listening)

Job Duties
- Serve as primary HR operations resource by independently managing a variety of compliance-driven records and employment processes within a Texas public higher education environment, including serving as a primary point of contact for employment verifications, I-9 compliance activities, public information requests, and HR Records inbox management. Conduct routine HR system quality assurance testing to validate updates and transactions.
- Manage employee biographical and demographic data changes within HR systems, including job data refreshes, reactivations, and position data reviews. Maintain data integrity through accurate transaction processing, records maintenance, and resolution of complex or escalated data issues.
- Coordinate end-to-end processing of unemployment claims (TWC notices, wage verifications, and earnings requests), state service credit evaluations, and longevity audits, applying established policies and procedures to ensure accurate determinations and timely responses.
- Deliver customer-focused support as initial point of contact with designated front desk coverage times, greeting visitors, screening and routing incoming calls and correspondence, and supporting a variety of administrative tasks while displaying a high level of responsiveness to customer needs and while maintaining current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures.
- Apply working knowledge of regulatory requirements to monitor, research, and resolve routine issues and ensure accurate reporting, including tracking annual acknowledgement compliance, providing support for CAMREQ duplicate resolution, and processing documentation and resolving discrepancies related to Teacher Retirement System (TRS) and Employees Retirement System (ERS) service credit, retirement eligibility considerations, and direct transfer provisions.
- Assist with HR initiatives, system updates, and operational projects aimed at improving efficiency, accuracy, and workflow consistency across HR operations.
- Maintain a strong understanding of institutional policies, state regulations, and HR procedures to ensure accurate processing, reliable recordkeeping, and consistent application of standards across all assigned processes.
