Department Summary
Treasury is responsible for managing the cash and investments of the UNT System enterprise. The asset management requires engaging with a master depository, approved Broker/Dealers, and an outsourced chief investment officer. Treasury also maintains access to capital markets for financing of strategic infrastructure projects for the entire UNT System enterprise.
Position Overview
The Senior Financial Analyst will create financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting to support the strategic goals of the institution. This role requires advanced financial modeling and the ability to provide actionable insights to senior leadership. The analyst will collaborate across departments to ensure financial resources are allocated effectively and efficiently.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field related field and five years of accounting, financial, or closely related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with TMS, cash forecasting tools, or advanced financial modeling systems.
Strong proficiency in Power BI, data modeling, and dashboard/report development.
CTP preferred (or obtained within 1 year based on eligibility).
LEAN/Six Sigma Yellow Belt preferred (or obtained within 6 months).
Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills with the ability to collaborate and manage complex data.
Demonstrated commitment to producing accurate, high quality work with strong attention to detail.
Curious, proactive, and comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels, including leadership.
Required License/Registration/Certifications
Job Duties
- Analyze large volumes of financial data and prepare complex financial and regulatory reports.
- Build and maintain advanced cash flow forecasting models using forecasting platforms.
- Develop automated dashboards and data visualizations in Power BI.
- Perform scenario analysis, trend evaluation, and financial modeling for executive decision support.
- Support debt reporting, compliance documentation, and state/federal reporting requirements.
- Assist with treasury operations, including wires, exceptions, and banking inquiries.
- Contribute to process improvements, automation, and internal control enhancements.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of all work products through thorough self review prior to submission.
- Ask thoughtful questions to deepen understanding of data, processes, and business drivers.
