Position Overview
This position is responsible for designing and developing impactful training programs that enhance employee learning, foster team development, and align with organizational goals. This role collaborates closely with subject matter experts (SMEs), senior leaders, and stakeholders to create engaging learning materials, deliver training sessions, and assess effectiveness across diverse audiences. The specialist leverages instructional design methodologies and cutting-edge technologies to deliver both traditional and digital learning solutions, while also contributing to team engagement by fostering a collaborative environment that encourages continuous learning and growth. Additionally, the specialist works with senior leaders to ensure training programs meet strategic organizational needs and drive performance.
Candidate must be able to travel to UNT Dallas for required on-site presence once a week.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Human Resources, or related field and two years experience in instructional design, learning development or related field, or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proficiency in Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, Canva, or similar software; experience with LMS platforms.
- Strong understanding of instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, SAM), adult learning principles, and performance improvement.
- Excellent verbal and written communication with the ability to present ideas clearly to diverse audiences.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Ability to adapt to evolving technologies and business needs while maintaining high-quality learning experiences.
Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:
- Experience with PeopleSoft
- Experience with UPK
Required License/Registration/Certifications
Job Duties:
- Design, develop, and implement learning programs aligned with organizational goals.
- Create engaging eLearning modules, instructor-led training (ILT) materials, and assessments.
- Apply instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) to develop learner-centered content, including micro trainings.
- Ensure content accessibility and inclusivity to accommodate diverse learning styles.
- Collaborate with SMEs, department leaders, and senior stakeholders to align training content with organizational needs and industry trends
- Foster team development by providing "train-the-trainer" resources
- Ensure effective cross-departmental communication for training delivery.
- Conduct training needs analysis to identify performance gaps and recommend appropriate learning solutions.
- Utilize blended, virtual, or in-person formats based on learner needs
- Recommend and integrate emerging technologies to enhance the learning experience.
- Deliver quality service through a customer-focused mindset, acknowledging the importance and value of the individuals being served.
- Demonstrate the ability to think and work independently, proactively identifying and addressing challenges while maintaining a positive learning environment.
- Develop and integrate learning solutions through Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital platforms
- Deliver engaging virtual and in-person training sessions.
- Provide ongoing support to learners and instructors
- Renovate and maintain existing library of learning materials and best practices for ongoing development
- Assist with scheduling, organizing, and reporting on training programs as requested.
- Ensure courses are included in employees¿ training records/maintains employee training records in EIS
