Department Summary
The Department of Physiology and Anatomy is home to researchers with a wide variety of interests and approaches. The Department is truly integrative as all faculty are engaged in interdisciplinary studies that span molecular, cellular, systems and behavioral sciences, with strong traditions of excellence in the study of cardiovascular, renal and neural-humoral control systems. The research activities of many of our faculty and graduate students involve studies of normal physiology such as exercise and travel to altitude as well as pathophysiological states such as heart failure, hypertension, cardiopulmonary bypass surgery, diabetes, obesity and sleep apnea.
Position Overview
The Postdoctoral Research Associate will conduct integrative physiologic research in cardiovascular/coronary physiology. The fellow will be responsible for designing, conducting, and analyzing experimental data, preparing manuscripts, and contributing to grant proposals.
Minimum Qualifications
- Doctoral degree. If not yet conferred, a letter from the school's official Graduate Office and/or Registrar's Office certifying that all requirements have been met and stating the degree conferral date can be accepted.

Job Duties:
- Develop and execute invasive in vivo cardiovascular experiments in swine models models of health and disease.
- Perform in vitro assessment of vascular function in isolated arteries and arterioles.
- Analyze and interpret experimental data collected with appropriate statistical comparisons.
- Work collaboratively with other members of the laboratory team.
- Contribute to ongoing collaborations with other laboratories.
- Prepare manuscripts of data collected for submission/publication in high-quality journals.
- Assist in supervising graduate and medical students working in the laboratory.
Work Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm
