The Office of the Registrar supports the academic mission of the university by maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and security of student records and enrollment data. The department provides leadership in academic policy implementation, student information systems administration, institutional reporting, and data governance. Through collaboration with campus partners, the Registrar's Office ensures efficient business processes, regulatory compliance, and the effective use of technology to enhance student services and support informed decision-making across the institution.
Position Overview
The Application Support Analyst serves as a key technical and analytical leader within the Office of the Registrar. Reporting directly to the University Registrar, this position provides functional and technical expertise in support of the institution's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system (PeopleSoft Student Information System), institutional data governance, and reporting operations. This role integrates systems analysis, advanced data analytics, ERP testing, query development, and assist with data governance.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field and three (3) years of work experience in computing, information systems, or related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Technical and functional experience with PeopleSoft Student Records and Academic Advising modules.
- Experience conducting ERP system testing, including user acceptance testing (UAT), regression testing, and system validation.
- Experience building advanced queries, dashboards, and analytical reports for institutional stakeholders.
- Knowledge of higher education academic structure, FERPA compliance, state reporting, and accreditation requirements.
- Demonstrated leadership in implementing technology driven innovation or business process improvement initiatives.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools and analytics platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Applications, Higher Education Administration, or a related field.
- Three (3) years of experience in ERP systems support, data analytics, systems analysis, or related technical field preferred.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of SQL and query development.
- Experience supporting enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems in a higher education environment.
- Strong analytical skills.
Job Duties
- Serve as functional lead for Registrar related ERP (PeopleSoft SIS) processes, including system configuration, setup, testing, validation, and enhancement implementation.
- Design, build, and maintain complex queries using SQL and PeopleSoft Query to support compliance reporting, institutional research needs, and operational decision making.
- Lead comprehensive testing of ERP upgrades, patches, enhancements, and integrations; document test cases, validate results, and coordinate issue resolution with Information Technology Services (ITS).
- Develop and manage automated processes within the Student Information System to improve efficiency, reduce manual intervention, and enhance data accuracy.
- Analyze, interpret, and transform institutional data to meet evolving reporting requirements, accreditation standards, and regulatory mandates.
- Create dashboards, reports, and analytical tools that support leadership in making data driven decisions.
- Draft and document detailed technical and functional business requirements for system improvements and new initiatives.
- Serve as cross functional liaison between the Office of the Registrar and ITS to ensure system alignment with academic operations and institutional priorities.
