Department Summary
The mission of the Division of Student Affairs is to create solutions for a healthier community by fostering student success. There are 8 functional units within the Division of Student Affairs: Center for Student Life, Career Readiness Center, Center for Academic Performance, Office of Care and Civility, Testing and Evaluation Services, International Services, Office of Disability Access, and Student Assistance Resource Center.
Position Overview
The Director of Student Services is a mid manager position which provides supervision, coaching, and mentoring to fulltime professional staff members within their area of responsibility. The Position coordinates programs, services, and activities in an effort to promote student learning outcomes established within each academic program on campus. The goal of this position is to create opportunities to promote learning, ethical decision making, scholarship, and leadership within the student body.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and six (6) years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; academic counseling expertise in a higher education setting; ability to supervise and provide second level supervision; strong organization skills
Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree in Higher Education or related field. Three years prior professional experience in learning strategies, learning theory, academic counseling, or learning assistance counseling at an institution or higher education.

Job Duties:
- Provide leadership and supervision of the Center for Academic Performance (CAP), including budgeting and assessment.
- Oversee CAP operations, including academic counseling, tutoring services, and writing support.
- Maintain accurate records of individuals and groups utilizing the Center for Academic Performance services.
- Provide guidance to students, faculty and staff on tailored academic intervention strategies.
- Develop and maintain resources focused on academic success strategies for students.
- Develop collaborative partnerships across campus, both inside and outside of the classroom, to ensure strategic integration of academic success programs, initiatives, and services.
Work Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm, with occasional evenings or weekends as required for divisional events.
