Department Summary
The Department of Social Work at UNT houses both graduate and undergraduate programs. Our BSW and MSW programs develop generalist social work practitioners who will optimize quality-of-life outcomes in communities worldwide by helping people overcome the challenges associated with abuse, poverty, homelessness, addiction, disability, illness and discrimination. Graduates practice in a variety of areas including integrated healthcare settings, hospice, substance abuse treatment, mental health, child welfare, aging, criminal justice, veterans, military and first responders, and more.
Position Overview
The Department of Social Work seeks qualified individuals to serve as hourly Adjunct Assistants to support the social work practicum courses and welcomes applicants at any time. This posting is for the Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 semesters. Assistants will help faculty with weekly supervision of BSW and MSW students, field visits and assessment of field presentations.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in Social Work.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
N/A
Preferred Qualifications
Licensure as a social worker at the LMSW or LCSW level. Previous college teaching experience
Required License/Registration/Certifications
Job Duties:
- Help faculty with weekly supervision of BSW and MSW students.
- Assist with field visits and assessment of field presentations.
- Other duties as assigned by adjuncts and faculty.
Physical Requirements:
Communicating with others to exchange information.
Lifting and moving objects up to 20 pounds.
Environmental Hazards:
No adverse environmental conditions expected.

Up to 19 hours/week
