Department Summary
The business training team manages learning within the Division of Integrity and Compliance and across the UNT campus. We are responsible for managing and assisting in the development and delivery of professional training initiatives that foster growth and change throughout the organization.
We manage and facilitate training projects focused on business process improvement, operations and related compliance items. We collaborate with campus employees to design and improve coursework that supports the mission of the university.
Position Overview
The Learning Management System (LMS) Administrator will be instrumental in creating high-impact learning experiences for employees at the University of North Texas and its affiliated institutions. This role encompasses management, technical support, analytical tasks, and consulting expertise for the implementation and ongoing support of compliance, professional development, and various training programs.
As a consultant and project manager, you will oversee the implementation and optimization of the LMS. Additionally, you will leverage your Sr. instructional design skills to develop engaging training materials and educate employees on the use of the LMS through various formats, including instructor-led, virtual, and computer-based learning.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in a related field and 4 years of successful experience in enterprise-level learning systems; development, coordination, and facilitation of classroom/online training programs; or any equivalent combination of education/training/experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Organizational and Analytical Skills:
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, adapt to shifting priorities, and apply strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
eLearning and LMS Proficiency:
- Proven knowledge of eLearning tools and learning management systems, aligning learning needs with technology solutions.
- Minimum of 5 years in Learning Technology, Computer Science, or Digital Learning within a higher education or corporate environment or similar field.
Technical Knowledge:
- Familiarity with API configurations, LTI, and system integrations, as well as experience with digital learning and artificial intelligence for training.
Microsoft Office and Technical Expertise:
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Windows and Office applications, along with proficiency in PC hardware and software.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Strong oral and written communication, presentation, and facilitation skills, with a focus on effective collaboration with internal customers and partners.
Conflict Management and Consulting:
- Effective in managing conflicts and leveraging consulting skills for decision-making and negotiation.
Instructional Design and Training Development:
- Advance expertise in instructional design, adult learning principles, and creating engaging training materials and presentations.
Credibility Building:
- Ability to establish and maintain credibility with stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in a related field.
- Web Accessibility (WCAG) / ADA compliance certification.
- Software Experience: Proficiency with third-party course-building platforms, such as Articulate.
- Independence: Ability to work independently with business acumen and make decisions with minimal supervision.
- Language Skills: Bilingual in Spanish, with the ability to read, write, and deliver training presentations in Spanish.

Job Duties:
LMS Management:
- Oversee the daily operations and maintenance of the LMS, ensuring optimal performance and user accessibility. API configurations, LTI, and system integrations, as needed and assist with digital learning and artificial intelligence for training as applicable.
Integration Management:
- Collaborate with IT to integrate the LMS with other systems and tools, such as student information systems and third-party applications.
System Configuration:
- Configure and customize the LMS to meet the organization’s needs, including setting up user roles, permissions, and course structures.
Content Development:
- Create, upload, and manage training materials and courses within the LMS, ensuring alignment with instructional design best practices.
User Support:
- Provide advanced technical support and assistance to users, including faculty, staff, and students, addressing any issues related to the LMS.
Training Facilitation:
- Conduct training sessions and workshops for users to enhance their understanding and effective use of the LMS.
Data Management:
- Monitor and analyze user data and engagement metrics, generating reports to assess the effectiveness of training programs.
Quality Assurance:
- Conduct regular testing and quality assurance checks on the LMS to ensure functionality and compliance with accessibility standards.
Process Documentation:
- Develop and maintain documentation for processes, procedures, and best practices related to LMS administration.
Compliance Monitoring:
- Ensure that training programs meet compliance standards and regulatory requirements, including ADA and WCAG guidelines.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in eLearning technologies to recommend enhancements to the LMS and training programs.
Collaboration:
- Work with subject matter experts and instructional designers to ensure course content is relevant and engaging. And other duties as needed.
