The mission of the Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management is to educate the next generation of hospitality and tourism leaders who strive for excellence and embrace our caring, innovative, and empowering community. The program offers a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management in Denton and Frisco, a Bachelor of Science in Event Design and Experience Management in Denton and Frisco, a Master of Science in Hospitality Management, a Master of Science in International Sustainable Tourism, a Master of Science in Hospitality & Data Analytics, and two 12-hour online Graduate Certificates in Hospitality Management, and Event and Tourism Management. The Master of Science in Hospitality Management is offered as both resident and 100% online programs. The Accreditation Commission for Programs in Hospitality Administration (ACPHA) accredits the Bachelor of Science degrees.

Position Overview
Join our team as a Professional Faculty where you'll play a pivotal role in shaping future food and beverage professionals and/or hospitality leaders who oversee restaurant operations! This position offers a unique opportunity to impart your extensive knowledge and passion for restaurant operations to enthusiastic students, preparing them for successful careers in the hospitality industry. The faculty is responsible for overseeing the student learning in the front and back of house of the Club at Gateway, our student-operated restaurant. The new hire will implement innovative teaching methods to assure that students understand food production using culinary methods, new technologies, and management practices. The faculty is responsible for course instruction primarily in HMGT 3251 Restaurant Operations, EDEM 3500 Catering Operations, and other courses as assigned for a 4/4 workload. The faculty may be required to travel off campus to monitor students and/or teach classes at lab sites in Frisco, Texas. The Professional Faculty will lead students in menu design, food preparation, planning and pricing menu items, ordering supplies, and keeping records and accounts. The faculty is responsible for activities which consist of collaboration with department and college faculty and staff and will plan and develop recipes and menus, determine production schedules and worker-time requirements to ensure timely delivery of lunch during restaurant operation and events as scheduled. The faculty will provide course instruction and monitor teaching/learning effectiveness.
Minimum Qualifications
An Associates degree in Culinary Arts, Pastry Arts, Hospitality, Food Science, Gastronomy, or related discipline and 15+ years of work-related experience.
OR
A Bachelors Degree or higher in Culinary Arts, Pastry Arts, Hospitality, Food Science, Gastronomy, or related discipline and 10+ years in work-related experience

Required License/Registration/Certifications

American Culinary Federation Certification preferred
