The University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, Department of Pediatrics', is seeking Licensed social worker for our current practice. The Social Worker will become a valued part of a fast paced and fast-growing department. Our team is responsible for putting together a plan of care for each of our patients and be a resource for our families.
Position Overview
The Pediatric Department at the University of North Texas Health Science Center is seeking to hire a Licensed Social Worker to join our team. This position will support the Pediatrics clinic. Work location is within the Health Pavilion and the position is not remote. This position will perform administrative and clinical duties including communicating with patients and families, clinicians, and staff on referrals, paperwork, and coordination of care with external and internal services. They will complete screeners, observe patient/client behavior, assess needs, and provide assistance as directed by the clinicians and supervisor. In addition, this position will create procedures, resource packets, and other related materials to support the clinic.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field and one year related experience; or current and unrestricted license (LBSW) to practice Social Work in the State of Texas.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to communicate effectively with a wide cross section of individuals.Ability to think critically.
Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications: LBSW or LMSW; Previous Pediatric work.
Required License/Registration/Certifications
Current and unrestricted License to Practice Social Work in the state of Texas.
Job Duties:
- Communicates with patients and families, clinicians, and staff regarding referrals, paperwork, and coordination of care with external and internal services by maintaining regular contact to monitor and track progress and response to services.
- Develops and implements individualized care plan with the client as directed by clinician and/or supervisor.
- Performs comprehensive assessments on clients according to established standards within scope of practice.
- Maintains knowledge of the field including Medicare, Medicaid, and other third party reimbursement sources.
- Performs other jobs as needed to meet the ongoing needs of the department.
- Participates in planning and implementing quality improvement activities.
- Develops and maintains the social service program and maintain a thorough knowledge of referral resources throughout the service area.

Monday - Friday 8 AM - 5 PM
