Position Overview
This position includes professional administrative work planning and aiding in the business management and staff services functions of a major administrative office. This position also operates with a high level of initiative and is responsible for a variety of decisions and administrative services. Duties involve independent judgment and initiative based on knowledge gained through experience, public contact work, including personal and sometimes very delicate communication with a wide range of persons and confidentiality of information handled in the Graduate Programs Office.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and five years' of highly responsible and varied office administration or business management experience; or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
- Knowledge of accounting/budgeting procedures.
- Ability to work under pressure, to adjust to constant changes, to handle multiple tasks, and to coordinate the work of others.
- Ability to keep complex records, to assemble and organize data of complex nature, and to prepare and submit reports in acceptable formats.
- Ability to work on complex and confidential tasks utilizing judgment, tact, and resourcefulness.
- Skill in developing and maintaining good working relationships.
Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with at least 2 years' experience in customer service and office administration.
- Experience with university admissions processing

Job Duties:
- Serve as frontline administrator for Ryan College of Business, Graduate Programs Office. Duties include greeting visitors and answering questions regarding GPO services and tasks, scheduling appointments, managing outgoing/incoming mail, answering phone and taking messages.
- Oversee human resources processes and procedures (including new hire onboarding) for the department.
- Support admission processing of RCOB Graduate Programs.
- Refer visitors to the appropriate staff person in the office or to other offices within RCOB or across campus.
- Assist with planning, preparation and implementation of special events.
- Maintain and effectively communicate in depth knowledge of the information, processes and procedures of the office, including admission requirements, degree requirements and general events.
- Process purchase orders, ABA's, IDT’s, and travel documents for department staff.
- Perform miscellaneous tasks at the discretion of the Assistant Dean and Directors, as assigned.
- Perform daily tasks to ensure the office environment is clean and organized.
Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm; some evenings and weekends; may require some occasional travel to other instructional locations, including UNT at Frisco
