The UNT Kristin Farmer Autism Center (KFAC) conducts evidence-based direct services, research, and training to positively impact individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders, their families, and the community.
Position Overview
This is a senior-level Behavior Technician position requiring advanced training and experience providing direct and indirect services to clients with autism under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). The Senior Behavior Technician (SBT) position is responsible for coordinating with the BCBA to conduct daily program maintenance activities, including data analyses of programming and assessments, implementing skill acquisition and behavior reduction procedures, and documenting and reporting outcomes.
SBTs will recommend specific courses of action to the Behavior Analyst, and may independently conduct parent training/update meetings. Duties are varied. The SBT typically coordinates and supervises the daily activities of a small team performing routine activities, and receives general direction working from established policies and procedures. Plans and carries out assignments autonomously, and resolves most conflicts, coordinates with others, and interprets policies on own initiative. Refers potential issues or far-reaching implications to higher levels. This position provides direct supervision for part-time staff, and assists in providing supervision for full-time staff.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree or graduate courses in special education, applied behavior analysis, child development, child psychology or other majors related to the treatment and education of children and adolescents; and a minimum of two years of experience providing direct services for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Some positions may require specialized knowledge, including early childhood education or adaptive/vocational programming knowledge and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Has provided ABA services to children on the autism spectrum successfully.
Preferred Qualifications
The following knowledge, skills and abilities are required:
- Advanced understanding of autism spectrum disorder and evidence-based intervention and training practices.
- Demonstrated effectiveness working with individuals with ASD.
- Ability to serve as a leader or co-leader of a multi-disciplinary team in making decisions regarding client programming and assessment.
- Ability to be patient, flexible, versatile, and cope with stressful situations.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to work with frequent interruptions and changes.
Required License/Registration/Certifications
Registered Behavior Technician with current certification.

Up to 19 hours per week. Schedule determined by supervisor between hours of 8:00am – 6:00pm.
