Position Overview

The Student Services Coordinator Internship Coordinator for the G. Brint Ryan College of Business will assist undergraduate students with the internship requirements and processes.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related field and two years of student services, student affairs, counseling, advising, or related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

• Knowledge of internships and other work-based learning programs
• Knowledge of career readiness principles and practices
• Excellent written communication, public speaking, and professional networking skills
• Strong computer and technology skills
• Efficient organizational and time management skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including faculty, staff, administration, employers, and student organizations
• Ability to attend to details while prioritizing among multiple projects

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in business, higher education, and/or workforce development
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field

Required License/Registration/Certifications

 

Job Duties

  • Delivers comprehensive internship preparation and career readiness programs for UNT business students, in alignment with current policies and guidelines of the university, the UNT Career Center, Wilson Jones Career Center, G. Brint Ryan College of Business, academic departments, and applicable laws/regulations. 
  • Facilitates the for-credit internship preapproval process for undergraduate students, in collaboration with academic departments. Utilizes designated data system(s) to verify accurate information, ensure alignment with requirements, troubleshoot obstacles, document student interactions, and process internship requests within short timelines. 
  • Engages with students, in-person and online, for individual and group guidance on internship search strategies. Creates and deploys outreach activities, presentations, workshops, informational materials, and resources. Analyzes student data in planning outreach strategies for maximum impact. 
  • Develops and expands professional relationships with external partners, including employers and alumni, to increase internship opportunities and improve the quality of work-based learning experiences. Collects and analyzes data on employer expectations and intern performance to inform student-facing career readiness strategies. 
  • Creates and maintains spreadsheets, databases, and technology-assisted systems to advance the internship program’s quality, efficiency, innovation, and alignment with industry trends. Translates data into actionable insights. 
  • Actively participates in collaborative initiatives, team meetings, and planning sessions. Assists team members with mutual backup. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Physical Requirements

Communicating with others to exchange information.
Lifting and Moving objects up to 20 pounds.
Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.

Mon-Friday 8am - 5pm, occasional nights and weekends
