Position Overview
The Associate Academic Advisor is an entry-level position dedicated to guiding undergraduate students through their academic journey, from initial registration to graduation. This role involves advising students on degree and program requirements, as well as course scheduling, while managing a regular caseload of students. The Academic Advisor also connects students with campus resources, collaborates with other campus offices to address challenges, and fosters student success. Additionally, this position works closely with the advising team to create a positive work environment and supports team initiatives, including projects, events, and caseload management, to ensure exceptional student support.

- Ability to learn and use a variety of simple to complex computer applications.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations verbally and in writing.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications
One year of experience in advising, coaching, student affairs, student services, counseling or other related experience; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Required License/Registration/Certifications
Job Duties:
- Advise students on university and degree program requirements, including the application of transfer credits and credit by examination, in various settings such as face-to-face, group, and virtual meetings.
- Assist students in maintaining enrollment in courses aligned with degree requirements to support timely graduation with intended degrees and credentials.
- Prepare and update degree audits, maintain student records, and document advising interactions using advising technology.
- Collaborate with campus resources and academic departments to provide referrals and address emerging student concerns effectively.
- Participate in special events and deliver group presentations focused on academic progress and student success. - (Essential)
- Support the advising team by contributing to special projects, onboarding new advisors, and assisting students as assigned by the Director.
