Position Overview
Clark Bakery Delivery Supervisor is a leadership position requiring a thorough understanding of the Clark Bakery operations, including all the Dining Services operations, client expectations, and university resources. These elements are needed to ensure that assigned tasks are successful. The Clark Bakery Delivery Driver reports to the Logistics Manager and is responsible for various duties, including but not limited to driving routes and making deliveries to ensure flawless execution of assigned tasks and overall floor operations, cleanliness, and organization.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma/GED equivalent and two years of experience in institutional or commercial food preparation, including one year of supervisory experience; or any equivalent combination of experience, education, or training.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to follow detailed oral and written instructions; ability to direct and manage the work of others. Ability to work from written menus, standard recipes and oral instructions. Ability to maintain records and complete forms accurately. Ability to apply mathematical concepts to complete tasks (example: checking orders for quantity). Considerable knowledge of the materials, methods, and equipment used in preparing food on a large scale. Considerable knowledge of health hazards in food preparation and service, and knowledge of necessary precautionary measures. Knowledge of food values and menu planning. Ability to train personnel in the care and use of equipment and in standard practices and methods used in largescale food service and following up delegated assignments. Knowledge of safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed.

Job Duties:
- Conduct daily event meetings with staff. Operational standards, program agenda, menu knowledge, and special assignments must be communicated before each event.
- Ensure constant communication is maintained with clients, and bakery supervisors prior to, during and after the event is completed.
- Detailed assignments are to be provided to staff during event meetings. These assignments are to include setup, service, and breakdown instructions.
- Department standards are to be maintained and upheld for all assigned events. This includes, but is not limited to, grooming, time/attendance, food safety, service, cleanliness and organization.
- Expect a hands-on approach from all staff.
- Have a clear understanding of checklists and pull sheets and other prep sheets for each event.
- Have a complete understanding of the products offered.
- Educate staff through lineups, training classes, etc. to inform them of the standards. Training standards are to be used in all pre-event meetings.
- Develop and maintain a catering order tracking system. Keep all equipment and supplies stored in a neat and organized manner. Must be able to scan mileage logs to the chef and to automotive at the end of each month.
- Driving routes and making deliveries meeting deadlines. Following the best practices for food safety both on the road and while loading or unloading a truck. Communicating with drivers and other team members to make deliveries. Tracking shipments and deliveries when ready for pick up. Assist kitchen employees in preparing items for delivery, including packing products and sorting delivery items by route.
- Ensure your team maintains the cleanliness of the dock area and trucks and accessible at all times in terms of communication. Coordinates with other drivers so there is always someone available on duty.
- During down time with no deliveries, will be required to assist with duties in the Clark Bakery.
Physical Requirements:
Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment.
Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
Lifting and Moving objects up to 50 pounds.
Communicating with others to exchange information.
Environmental Hazards:
Outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind.
Exposure to moving mechanical parts or vibration.
