The Educator Preparation Program at UNT provides teacher candidates the opportunities to move beyond being students of organized knowledge to becoming teachers who put their acquired knowledge into practice in EC-12 classrooms. The Clinical Practice Office supports this goal through partnerships with district and schoolteachers and administrators to provide field-based preparation opportunities for both undergraduate and post-baccalaureate students seeking initial teacher.
Position Overview
The UNT Educator Preparation Office at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a full-time Office Support Associate to join our TExES Success team. This position is directly supervised by the Director of the TExES Success Office (TSO) and works closely with other staff within the Educator Preparation Program under the guidance of the Associate Dean for Educator Preparation. A successful Office Support Associate must have excellent computer skills, including knowledge of basic computer manipulation, such as: managing computer files, word processing, spreadsheets, data entry, and the ability to learn and navigate new database systems.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma and three years' of moderately responsible and varied office administration or business management experience; or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Advanced customer service skills.
- Advanced Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Ability to thrive under pressure in fast-paced environments, adapting quickly to changing priorities and handling multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining focus.
- Skilled in managing complex records, organizing intricate data sets, and preparing detailed reports.
- Ability to navigate confidential and sensitive tasks with discretion.
- Proven ability to maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, students, and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with university policies, practices, procedures, and terminology, or the ability to quickly learn and adapt to these within the context of educator preparation.
Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:
- Knowledge of Educator Preparation and/or TExES certification exams.
- Excellent computer and data management skills, with a commitment to continually updating technical competencies as needed.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience speaking in front of large groups.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision, while also thriving in team-oriented environments.
Job Duties:
- Provide primary office support by greeting guests, answering phones, returning emails, copying informational brochures.
- Assist in the collection and management of data for accountability reporting.
- Maintain data in appropriate internal and external databases.
- Assist with preparing and proctoring TExES practice exams throughout the year.
- Stay current on certification changes at the University, program, and state level.
- Assist Certification Officer as needed during high volume times and other duties as assigned.

Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
