Position Overview
The Gen AI Platform Administrator is responsible for managing the Azure-native generative AI platform and working closely with internal stakeholders across academic, research, and operational areas to align the technical aspects of artificial intelligence with the strategic needs of UNT System Enterprise. This role involves project management, business analysis, platform administration, training users on the platform, and addressing potential issues related to data privacy and security.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and three years of experience in system administration, cloud computing, data engineering/analytics or AI platform management; or any equivalent combination of education, experience, or training.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Skill in utilizing AI/ML frameworks and tools (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar).
- Strong understanding of data privacy and security regulations.
- Experience with data management and ETL processes.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (e.g., Python, Bash, Ansible).
- Strong understanding of cloud platforms and containerization technologies.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a related field.
- Knowledge of DevOps principles and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
- Experience collaborating within an agile team and familiarity with agile frameworks (e.g., Kanban, Scrum, etc.)
Required License/Registration/Certifications
Job Duties:
- Project Management and Collaboration -
- Work with cross-functional teams, including staff, faculty, data scientists, and other stakeholders to identify relevant use cases for delivery through the GenAI platform.
- Oversee GenAI projects, including planning, execution, and monitoring progress to ensure timely delivery and successful implementation.
- Lead and contribute to projects focused on enhancing system capabilities and performance.
- Business Analysis -
- Conduct detailed analysis of business needs and requirements to identify opportunities for implementing generative AI solutions and assist in the governance of these requests.
- Responsible for maintaining and overseeing comprehensive documentation, including use case descriptions, functional requirements, and technical specifications, to guide the implementation and adoption of AI technologies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather feedback and insights, ensuring that AI use cases are aligned with enterprise objectives and deliver measurable value.
- Platform Management and Administration -
- Install, configure, and maintain AI software and related infrastructure.
- Configure GenAI platform to align with enterprise needs, including setting usage parameters and integrating internal systems and data platforms.
- Oversee daily operations to ensure optimal performance and reliability, coordinating with internal IT teams and technology providers to resolve issues and implement necessary software updates.
- Provide technical support and training to users of AI platforms.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Manage user access, roles, and permissions to ensure security and compliance.
- Track usage patterns to identify areas for improvement and future platform enhancements.
- Innovation and Continuous Improvement -
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of advancements in AI technology, with a focus on large language data models and their applications, advantages, and attributes such as quality, cost, performance, and speed.
- Assess and propose new tools and technologies to improve the AI infrastructure.
- Data Privacy and Security -
- Ensure that data integrity, availability, and security are maintained in accordance with organizational policies.
- Monitor data usage to protect student privacy, comply with data protection regulations, and implement security measures to prevent unauthorized access.
