Advocacy Coaches are a critical part of the College of Law’s learning community. Coaches are involved in curricular and co-curricular activities and programs relating to student learning and professional formation throughout law school. The appointments will be as either Head Advocacy Coach or Assistant Advocacy Coach to coach a Moot Court or Mock Trial competition team in the 2026-2027 academic year. All competitions will likely be in person. At least one head coach is expected to travel with the teams. Assistant Coaches shall only travel with the team with express approval. Travel expenses will be reimbursed according to UNT System policies. Head coaches - $1,500 for each competition, no more than one competition per term. Assistant coaches - $750 for each competition, no more than one competition per term.

The appointment will be as Adjunct Faculty Assistant to assist in teaching Client Interviewing and Counseling and/or Negotiation and Conflict Management by leading small groups of students through interviewing or negotiation simulations. Classes will be delivered in person at the UNT Dallas College of Law downtown location. Client Interviewing and Counseling sessions will meet for approximately 10 sessions. Negotiation and Conflict Management will meet for approximately 10 sessions. Adjunct Faculty will work in pairs to lead/coach small groups of students through either interviewing simulations or negotiation simulations that are created and/or provided by the Assistant Professor of the Course. Adjunct Professors do not create/design any aspect of the course but are responsible for grading the simulations and coaching the students. Multiple positions may be are available for both time frames, although there are considerably more slots for the Client Interviewing and Counseling course. While preferences for courses will be considered, depending on student enrollment and the number of returning Adjunct Faculty, the number of available positions may be limited.
